Fifty-three poets shared their work during the second annual SlamCon poetry event, held April 5 at TCC Northwest.
The event was co-sponsored by the English and World Languages departments and provided students an opportunity to perform their poetry in multiple languages. This year, poems were read in English, Spanish, American Sign Language, Hindi and Arabic.
More than 147 students, staff and community members attended the annual event, now in its second year. The planning committee also sponsored a competitive poetry event, Mic Drop, on April 19.
