TCC recognized among the best mid-size employers in the U.S.

Tarrant County College has been named one of America’s 2021 Best Mid-Size Employers by Forbes, ranking 164th out of 500 nationwide employers within the 1,000- to 5,000-employee category. This is the first time TCC has received this accolade.

“Tarrant County College is pleased to be recognized as an employer of value,” said TCC Chancellor Eugene Giovannini. “This ranking by Forbes as a top employer validates TCC’s efforts to cultivate an equitable and respectful community in which members are engaged and empowered, and where individuality is valued.”

During the global pandemic, mid-size companies have had to navigate an array of challenges, from whether to apply for federal funding to employing essential workers. The companies on this Forbes list have risen to the occasion, adapting in ways that benefit employees, students and partners, according to Forbes.

To determine the list, Forbes partnered with Statista, a global market research firm, to anonymously survey 50,000 U.S. employees working for companies with at least 1,000 employees. Respondents were asked to rate, on a scale of zero to 10, how likely they would be to recommend their employer to others. Statista then asked respondents to nominate organizations other than their own, plus identify organizations they would recommend to others. The final list ranks the 500 midsize employers that received the most recommendations.

Tarrant County College is staffed with 2,247 full-time employees across the six-campus District. TCC also employs nearly 2,000 full-time and adjunct faculty to provide instruction to students enrolled in academic and non-credit courses.
