Tarrant County College has announced that residents in District 5 may apply to be considered for a four-month appointment for the seat vacated by board member Pastor Michael Evans, who resigned after being sworn in as mayor of Mansfield.
The deadline for applications is Thursday, Jan. 21 at noon. Applicants will be invited to make a three-minute personal statement at the regular Board of Trustees meeting on January 21 at 6 p.m. During the closed session portion of that meeting, Board members will review résumés and interview candidates. After being selected during the meeting, the new board member will serve as the District 5 Trustee until May 1, 2021.
Individuals interested in serving from May 2, 2021 to May 2023 for the balance of the District 5 Trustee’s unexpired term will need to file for May election no later than February 12.
Candidates for the position must be a resident of District 5 that represents southeast Tarrant County, which includes south Arlington and Mansfield.
