I welcome you to the Fall 2017 publication of the Northwest Campus e-newsletter. We have appropriately renamed our newsletter the Northwest Link so that we can use this platform to showcase the best of the Northwest Campus to link to you.
As you read about our activities this semester, I hope it will become apparent to you the caliber of work we are doing in providing affordable and open access to quality teaching and learning. You will also note our efforts toward being a recognized campus of choice for academic excellence and lifelong learning to educate and empower our community.
In this issue, we highlight several programs and people that are making a difference on the Northwest Campus and within our community. Among the articles, we feature the extraordinary work of our Fire Service Training Center instructors who responded to Hurricane Harvey, student contributions to our “Thankful Tree,” our Community Food Market partnership, a literary-themed “Dead Writer’s Night,” as well as campus accolades and details about recent events.
I hope that this issue of Northwest Link provides a glimpse into the exciting things that are taking place on the Northwest Campus. As always, thank you for your support of Tarrant County College and the Northwest Campus.
Warm regards,
Zarina Blankenbaker, Ph.D.
