TREC Hosts Community Fun

Students, their families and the entire Tarrant County community are invited to TCC’s new Trinity River East Campus (TREC)  in downtown Fort Worth on Saturday, Oct. 1, for a fun-filled look at the Center for Health Care Professions at 245 E. Belknap.

The grand opening celebrates the fall start of classes at the health care professions facility that brings Nursing and other Allied Health programs together in one location. Activities, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., will include live music, complimentary food, and periodic guided tours showcasing the real-world simulated areas and skills labs.

In addition to Nursing, the fully accredited programs include Surgical Technology, Radiologic Technology, Health Information Technology, Physical Therapist Assistant, Respiratory Care, and Long Term Care Administration. They will produce licensed professionals to help meet the rapidly growing health care needs of Tarrant County.

TREC opened Aug. 29 with an enrollment of more than 700 students.  Its proximity to Fort Worth’s medical district provides opportunities for expanded partnerships with the health care industry.

Free parking for the event will be available in TCC parking lots A and B at the intersection of Belknap  and Jones streets, and in the Tarrant County Family Court Garage at the intersection of Calhoun and Weatherford streets.

Helping to introduce TCC’s newest campus to the Tarrant County community are several businesses including Dr. Pepper Snapple Group, Follett Higher Education Group and Educational Catering, Inc.

Guests should RSVP by Sept. 28 at www.tccd.edu/RSVP. In case of inclement weather, the open house will delayed one week until Oct. 8.

Hope to see you, your family and friends there!
