FORT WORTH, Texas —Tarrant County College aviation maintenance technician students stood out at this year’s Aerospace Maintenance Council competition at the MRO Americas Conference, April 21-23 in Orlando, Fla.
TCC — coaches Stuart Riley and Mike Vitek and students John Ewings, Deniss Krasowski, Hieu Pham, Matthias Psencik, Marc Rosa and Josh Yang — took top school in six events. Overall, TCC earned third place.
Riley called the conference and competition a once-in-a-lifetime experience for students. “They get to see more of aviation in a few short days than the average AMT sees during their career.”
Michael Esquivel, business and industry dean at Tarrant County College Northwest at Alliance, said the TCC delegation’s dedication and preparation set it apart.
Added Director of Workforce Programs Daniela Molina:
“Our TCC AMT program continues to grow as a key pipeline for aviation talent, equipping students with the hands-on training and certifications needed to succeed in the field. We are extremely proud of their performance, teamwork and commitment to the aviation industry.”
Molina praised industry sponsors Southwest Airlines and RH Aero for the vision to send TCC to the competition, as it provides “an invaluable opportunity for students to apply what they have learned in the classroom and lab in a real world, high-pressure environment.”
