Tarrant County College (TCC) and Texas Wesleyan University (TXWES) today announced a dual admission transfer pathway that will help students make a smooth transition from TCC to TXWES to continue their education.
Under this multi-year agreement, the TCC to TXWES Pathway Program will strengthen the existing relationship between the two institutions by offering several opportunities for all TCC students to pursue associate and bachelor’s degrees seamlessly.
”Thanks to this innovative partnership, TCC students have a streamlined, cost-effective pathway to earn a bachelor’s degree through Texas Wesleyan University and then to enter the workforce,” said TCC Chancellor Eugene Giovannini. “Affordability, accessibility and completion are at the core of this agreement, and both institutions are committed to these goals.”
Students can use one application to apply to both TCC and TXWES, and there is no cost for participating in the TCC to TXWES Pathway Program. TCC graduates can automatically transfer to TXWES with junior standing to complete a bachelor’s degree.
“TCC students who continue their academic journeys at Texas Wesleyan experience great success. The TCC to TXWES Pathway Program builds on that strong track record by providing a new way for TCC students to transfer to our campus seamlessly,” Texas Wesleyan University President Frederick G. Slabach said. “We’re excited to enter a partnership that makes getting a four-year degree easier and more cost-effective than ever for TCC students.”
As part of the agreement, support services and financial assistance, such as advising and scholarships, will be provided by TXWES to help TCC students achieve academic success. TCC students participating in the program will receive extra benefits, including special workshops and campus tours hosted by TXWES and tickets to athletic competitions and other campus events. Students already enrolled at TCC also can apply for dual admission to TXWES.
“TCC students who opt in to the program will be encouraged to know that their TCC admission application will also serve as their Texas Wesleyan admission application,” said David Ximenez, associate vice chancellor of enrollment and academic support services.
