On Friday, Sept. 27, Tarrant County College’s award-winning chefs Katrina Warner and Alison Hodges will help kick of this year’s Texas State Fair, themed “Celebrating Texas Creativity.” Before a live audience, TCC chefs will demonstrate their culinary skills by preparing Chicken Florentine and Sundried Tomato Crepes. The demonstration will begin at 11 a.m. in the Cutco Celebrity Chef Kitchen in the Creative Arts Building.
Warner is the culinary arts program coordinator and Hodges is the pastry chef instructor for TCC’s program that offers an Associate of Science Degree in Culinary Arts. This program is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation.
Most recently, Warner was named 2019 Educator of the Year for the Dallas Chapter of the Texas Chefs Association and Hodges received a 2019 Chancellor’s Award for Exemplary Teaching and earned a bronze medal and 2nd place overall in the 2018 American Culinary Federation Competition in Madison, WI. These two chefs have served hundreds of people during previous Texas State Fair appearances.
