Underscoring the College’s goal of serving the community, Tarrant County College South announced Gulf States Toyota as the recipient of the Outstanding Community Partner Award during its Celebration of Excellence Awards ceremony on Tuesday, April 23.
TCC South honors selected students, faculty, staff and community partners at this celebratory event held each spring. Criteria for the Outstanding Community Partner Award includes the depth and breadth of the partner’s involvement with TCC South and its commitment to student success.
In May 2017, TCC South partnered with Gulf States Toyota and Toyota Motor North America to launch the industry-leading Toyota Technician Training and Education Network (T-TEN) program at the campus. This degree program provides a strong pipeline of talented, career-minded, highly trained service technicians for Toyota and Lexus dealerships in Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Oklahoma.
Currently, TCC’s T-TEN program is placing students with local Toyota and Lexus dealers to work in the field while completing their education. Gulf States Toyota’s investment also includes the establishment of a $10,000 scholarship fund to help students achieve their academic dreams.
