President’s Letter

I would like to welcome you to the spring 2019 edition of the Northwest Link, our semi-annual e-newsletter.  We take this opportunity toward the end of each semester to showcase the terrific work our faculty, staff, and students do on TCC Northwest.

As you take some time to review the work we have chosen to highlight in this edition of the Northwest Link, I am sure you will see how much care and hard work TCC Northwest puts into fulfilling the mission of Tarrant County College.  We strive to provide our community with affordable, open access to quality teaching and learning as well as a foundation for lifelong learning.

In this issue, you will see how TCC Northwest is able to bring together high schools, industry and community partners, as well as our own state government to support our students.  You will see stories about our annual UIL competition for high school students as well as NC3 Signing Day, an opportunity to celebrate high school students who have chosen to pursue an education in a technical field.  You will also see how the DFW Chapter of the Professional Aviation Maintenance Association has provided financial support to many of our students enrolled in the Associate of Applied Sciences in Aviation Maintenance program.  We also have a story about a trip some of our TCC Northwest students took to Austin to visit lawmakers at the state capitol, as well as a wonderful photo essay documenting our Earth Day Fest by NW Campus student Tara Reeves, our first ever student contributor to the Northwest Link.

I hope this issue of Northwest Link speaks not only to the high quality of work we are doing at  TCC Northwest, but of how many exciting things that are taking place here. Thank you, as always, for your continued support of Tarrant County College and TCC Northwest.

Warm regards,

Zarina Blankenbaker, Ph.D.
