Smart Market Arrives at TCC

Tarrant County College students now have a chance to get healthy snacks and drinks at all times, thanks to the new Smart Market systems installed at multiple campuses.

This new self-checkout micro-market features five vending machines and a coffee station that offers freshly brewed coffee, according to Ray Allison, one of the leads on the project. From tasty deli sandwiches and salads, to healthy snacks and drinks, TCC has made grabbing a quick bite easier than ever.

Before using the new system, simply create an account at Smart Market’s website (https://www.smartmkt.com/)  or at the main kiosk on site. This allows users to keep track of their transactions, update their account, or add funds.

Just passing by? Simply swipe your credit card at the main kiosk or at any door and start shopping. You only will be charged for the items you purchase at that time. Once you have collected your goodies, visit the kiosk to review the order and print a receipt, or simply walk away.

While this system caters to students to ensure they have expanded access to food and drinks, TCC staff and faculty are encouraged to use the Smart Markets as well.

Smart Markets can be found at the following locations:

  • South Campus – SSCI building
  • Northeast Campus – NLIB building
  • Northwest Campus – TBA
  • Center of Excellence for Aviation, Technology & Logistics – Cafeteria
  • Southeast Campus – first floor of ESCT building

Each Smart Market is equipped with camera technology to enhance security and notify authorized personnel of any potential concerns. Understanding there is a correlation between nutrition and student success, TCC launched this initiative to underscore its commitment to being a student-ready college.
