TCC Continues Youth Support with Main Street Arts Sponsorship

Main-Street-News-RotatorTarrant County College is continuing its support of one of Fort Worth’s iconic celebrations as one of seven official sponsors for this year’s Main Street Arts Festival, which runs from April 9-12 in downtown Fort Worth. Consistent with TCC’s commitment to putting success within reach for current and future students, the College once again will be a presenting sponsor the Growing Young Artists program including a Young People’s Art Fair.

Located in Main Street Creates! at Main Street and Weatherford, the Young People’s Art Fair will feature works for sale from more than 300 Fort Worth artists ages 7-17. Additionally, TCC art faculty will use pottery wheels for live art demonstrations. Between demos, attendees may contribute to the creation of the hands-on community canvas that will include the artist renderings of anyone who wants to participate.

Artwork created by TCC faculty and students will be exhibited, showing off the expertise in our various art programs. In addition to noon appearances on Saturday and Sunday by TCC’s mascot, Toro, TCC employees will staff two informational booths – one in Main Street Creates! and one at the corner of Main and Fourth streets, at which people can view a timeline highlighting TCC’s contributions since its inception 50 years ago. They also may learn more about the programs TCC offers.

A special thanks in advance to the more than 50 volunteers who are making TCC’s participation possible.
