TCC Observes Constitution Day

Tarrant County College Trinity River will get a head start on its Constitution Day celebrations when U.S. Congressman Marc Veasey holds a Constitution Day conversation on Sept. 15 from noon to 1 p.m. at the Idea Store.
 
Constitution Day, an American federal observance, recognizes the adoption of the U.S. Constitution and those who have become U.S. citizens. It is observed on Sept. 17, the day the U.S. Constitution was signed in 1787.
 
Other TCC events recognizing the importance of the U.S. Constitution include a film screening of Steven Spielberg’s “Lincoln” on Sept. 16, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. in the Energy Auditorium, TRTR 4008 with commentary by Government Professor Corena White.
 
On Sept. 17, the Idea Store will host Constitution Shark Tank from noon – 2 p.m. Students go up against the sharks and pitch their ideal government.

On Sept. 17, from 12:30 to 1:50 p.m. in NSTU 1615A, Center Corner,TCC Northeast Campus will host a discussion with John McCaskill from the University of Texas at Dallas regarding inherent tensions within the U.S. Constitution and its impact on the federal bureaucracy.
