FORT WORTH, Texas (May 11, 2011)
Judith Carrier, founding president of Tarrant County College Southeast Campus, has been given the Discover Award from the Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains. Carrier will be recognized at the 2011 Women of Distinction luncheon Thursday, May 12, at 11:30 a.m. at Fort Worth’s Ridglea Country Club.
Carrier serves as vice chair of the Fort Worth Corporation and in board positions for the Arlington Chamber of Commerce, Team Arlington and the Fort Worth Public Library Foundation. In addition to serving on the North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee and as a Miss Texas Scholarship Pageant state judge, she is a member of the Methodist Mansfield Medical Center Community Council.
Additionally, Carrier has earned the Texas Dietetic Association Bluebonnet Award, the Legacy of Women Award for Education from the Arlington Women’s Shelter, and the Distinguished Alumnae and Outstanding Service Award from the University of North Texas, where she received her master’s and doctoral degrees. She earned her B.S. from the University of Houston.
