More than 80 students from all five campuses learned the ups and downs of teamwork recently during the Leadership 2011 student retreat and conference. The event, held March 25-26 at Camp Grady Spruce at Possum Kingdom Lake, included leadership speakers, outdoor learning courses designed to build trust, confidence and teamwork skills, and fun activities, such as archery, canoeing, barge ride and horseback riding.
Speakers included astronaut Leroy Chiao, educational speaker Rick Barnes, and Steven Lemons, former award-winning corporate executive, television host and currently director of the Writing and Learning Center at the Trinity River Campus.
