Luncheon to Rally Developmental Students

The personal challenges Reading Instructor Robin Birt overcame as a developmental student are among the experiences she will share at the 2nd Annual Developmental Education Luncheon Tuesday, Oct. 5, at noon at Trinity River Campus in the Action A Room.

Students currently enrolled in developmental classes are encouraged to sign up with their developmental teacher to participate in luncheon that includes door prizes, a panel of students sharing their experiences and the opportunity to network with students facing similar challenges.

Helping students understand that “changing habits can change their lives,” is one of the key points that will be discussed by Writing and Learning Center Coordinator Steven LeMons.  LeMons said he also will focus on the important roles of attitude and decision-making.

More information about the luncheon is available from Dreand Johnson, divisional dean of science and mathematics, at dreand.johnson@tccd.edu.
