TCC Hires First Weekend College Director

Leticia Gallegos has been named director of the new Weekend College at the Trinity River Campus, becoming the District’s first administrator of Weekend College. Plans call for all TCC campuses to eventually have directors for Weekend College, which allows students to earn an associate degree by taking classes entirely on the weekend.

Gallegos earned an M.A. in professional development from Amberton University and a M.S. in student affairs management from the University of North Texas, where she also received a B.A. in speech communications.

Previously, she worked at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, DeVry University in Irving and UNT in numerous positions including operations manager, director of academic operations, director of academic advising and associate dean for student success.

Gallegos has served on several committees including chair of the Leaders Series, chair of campus registration and the Senior Retention Committee at DeVry, Staff Council and Faculty/Staff Benefits at UNM, and chair of Resident Assistant Selection, Hall Director Selection and Safety at UNT.

If you haven’t done so already, please welcome Letty to the TCC family.
