Women in New Roles Celebrates 32 Years

Women in New Roles is focusing on friends and networking during its 32nd Anniversary Banquet on Friday, Oct. 23, at Northeast Campus. The biennial banquet is at 7 p.m. and will be preceded by a 6 p.m. reception in the Student Center, Center Corner.

Interim Chancellor Erma Johnson Hadley is the speaker for the event. The theme is “WINR 32 – A Second Life.” The semi-formal event provides an opportunity to greet old friends, meet new friends and network.

The Eagle Award will be presented to someone who has been supportive of the program whose mission is “to empower, encourage, and support women as they enroll in college and attempt to reach their personal, educational and career goals.”

South Campus Behavioral Science Department Chair Glenda Nichols was the 2007 Eagle Award recipient.

The event is open to present and former WINRs, students, faculty, staff and the public. Tickets are $10 and available on the three campuses with the program from Paula Vastine, Northeast,  ext. 6456; Tina Jenkins, ext. 4333, and Trish Light, ext. 4740, South; and Marisa Garcia-Luna, ext. 3107, Southeast Campus.
