FORT WORTH, Texas (Apr. 12, 2011)
Tarrant County College will begin transforming a former library to a new training/learning center after the Haltom City Council voted Monday to enter a lease agreement with the college.
The 5,000-square-foot space at 3201 Friendly Lane will allow the Northeast Campus to better serve the growing area by offering courses previously unavailable due to space constraints.
Plans could include a dance studio with appropriate flooring and equipment. Courses being considered for the Northeast Training/Learning Center include English composition, art appreciation, chemistry, developmental math, government and history. The Center could provide tuition-free courses in Adult Basic Education, General Equivalency Development and English as a Second Language.
Other programs could be available based on collaborative agreements made with the Small Business Development Center and Workforce Services.
