FORT WORTH, Texas — Organic Flow, the work of painter and mixed-media artist Brenda McKinney, opens Feb. 10 in the Art Corridor II gallery at TCC Southeast. The exhibit showcases the artist’s use of alcohol inks as an expressive medium.
“I strive to communicate the spirit of spontaneous expression, letting the energy flow with colors, lines, shapes and dots,” she says. She praises alcohol ink as an excellent medium that enables her to “capture the energy of the day as it flows onto the paper.”
McKinney says she wants viewers to see their own interpretation, bringing joy, pleasure and insights as they discover what may be hidden in the meaning for themselves.
McKinney has been featured in national and international exhibitions in the U.S. and abroad. Her award-winning artwork is in permanent collections at Texas Woman’s University; the Institute of Health Sciences; Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas; UT Southwestern; and Dallas College, Brookhaven Campus.
The exhibition continues through March 7.
