TCC stages five spring theater productions across multiple campuses

FORT WORTH, Texas — From witty satires to magical romance, corporate chaos to Chicago’s Jazz Age scandals, the curtain rises this month on a dynamic theater season on Tarrant County College stages that will make you laugh, gasp and question everything you thought you knew about love and trust.

The season opens at TCC Northeast and runs through late April, featuring student performers tackling some of theater’s most celebrated works. Tickets range from free to pay what you can. Here’s what’s on stage:

Imposter! Hypocrite! Tartuffe! | TCC Northeast

March 4-7 at 7 p.m., matinee March 7 at 2 | NFAB Northeast Fine Arts Building

Written and directed by artistic director Ashley H. White, Molière’s 17th-century satire follows a pious con man who infiltrates a wealthy household and turns it inside out. The play remains one of theater’s sharpest comedies about deception, blind faith and the dangers of flattery. Performances premiere March 4.

Tickets: $6 general admission, $3 non-TCC students and senior citizens, free for TCC students, faculty and staff.

An Evening of Ives | TCC Northwest

April 1 at 7 p.m., matinee April 4 at 2 | NW02 Whitebox Theater

Theatre Northwest presents a collection of David Ives’ most beloved short comedies — an evening of wit, unexpected twists and inventive storytelling. The works explore love, death and human absurdity with the comic touch that has made Ives one of contemporary theater’s most celebrated voices.

Admission: Pay what you can; half of the proceeds support Theatre Northwest scholarships.

Below the Belt | TCC South

April 9-11 at 7:30 p.m. | Joe B. Rushing Center for the Performing Arts Mainstage

Richard Dresser’s dark comedy follows three workers trapped in an absurdist corporate wasteland, navigating bureaucracy, paranoia and the strange logic of institutional life. The New York Post called it gloriously funny and wickedly insightful.

Admission: Free for everyone.

Almost, Maine | TCC Southeast

April 22-24 at 7:30 p.m., matinee April 24 at 1:30 | C.A. Roberson Theatre

John Cariani’s enchanting drama visits a remote Maine town where love arrives in strange and magical ways — all on one extraordinary night. Theatre Southeast presents this audience favorite about the unexpected, unstoppable nature of human connection. Suggested for mature audiences; children under 6 will not be admitted.

Admission: Pay what you can; proceeds benefit TCC Southeast drama scholarships.

Chicago | Northeast Campus

April 22-25 at 7 p.m., matinee April 25 at 2 | NFAB Northeast Fine Arts Building

The Northeast Drama Playhouse brings Kander and Ebb’s iconic Jazz Age musical to the stage — a glittering, sharp-edged story of murder, celebrity and showbiz in call Prohibition-era Chicago. Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly battle for headlines and stardom in one of Broadway’s most celebrated productions.

Tickets: $6 general admission, $3 non-TCC students and senior citizens, free for TCC students, faculty and staff.
