FORT WORTH, Texas — GHOSTlight Gallery: A play with prose and poetry runs Oct. 24-26 at 7:30 p.m. at Tarrant County College South in the Joe B. Rushing Center for the Performing Arts, 5301 Campus Drive 76119. Admission is free.
Written by Scott Wild, the show involves a group of aspiring actors called to a mysterious rehearsal where they learn that some theater superstitions are there for a reason.
One timeless notion holds that every theater is haunted. The ghost light of the title is the single-bulb light that is left on in a dark, unoccupied theater, thus enabling spirits to see and perform throughout the night.
Drama Instructor Lindy Benton-Muller, the director, says the production primarily features actors new to the TCC South stage. “I find that exciting,” she said. “Of course, I always love having actors who return, and we have that, too.”
Cast members play themselves in the production. Carillon Theater Company members include Esperanza Alvarez, Karma Boase, Eboni Douglas, Katerin Garcia, Hannah Hunter, Kenisha Nealy, Dion Salabit, Eva Shakya and Terrance Wilson.
