FORT WORTH, Texas — Tarrant County College is working with more than 20 community partners to offer the inaugural Children’s Health Symposium from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 12 at TCC South, 5301 Campus Drive 76119.
The event features health screenings, immunizations, CPR training and basic first aid. Panel discussions will explore mental health and substance abuse.
Games and Zumba for Children will be offered, and healthy snacks will be available. Expect an appearance from the Red Bus from the North Texas Food Bank.
Door prizes will be awarded every hour.
Lifestyle and Community Learning Coordinator Sherry Mathews says the event was inspired by conversations Dean Terry Aaron held with parents she met through youth programs. Dr. Aaron said she learned about countless health disparities in the economically disadvantaged community surrounding the campus.
All are welcome and encouraged to attend. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
