FORT WORTH, Texas — Tarrant County College’s Student Empowerment Center has expanded its offerings — more food and fuel vouchers, plus heightened guidance on community aid — to assist students facing difficulty.
“The mission is to alleviate the stress students face when navigating life’s challenges,” said director Allison Knott. “We are committed to connecting students with high-quality support resources and delivering exceptional service.”
Knott said the center’s team works with internal and external partners to provide a variety of resources, including legal expertise, housing referrals, and mental health and well-being counseling.
To access these services, an individual must:
· Be enrolled at one of the six TCC campuses.
· Be enrolled in at least three credit hours and pursuing a degree or certificate.
· Not be on academic probation or suspension. (Services may be limited.)
After completing a short benefits screening, students have 24/7 access to community and federal resources through the Single Stop platform:
Single Stop™ – Your Single Stop in finding benefits & resources.
