Proof, David Auburn’s Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning play, runs at 7 p.m. March 6-9 with a 2 p.m. March 9 matinee in the Northeast Drama Playhouse, 828 W. Harwood Road, 76054.
After the discovery of a groundbreaking mathematical proof, Catherine is confronted with the question of how much of her mathematician father’s brilliance she inherited — and is that the only thing he passed on to her? Proof movingly explores the nature of genius, women in mathematics, and father-daughter relationships.
Director Jakie Cabe, associate professor, believes the play invites the audience to consider the fine line between brilliance and madness and the sacrifices made in the pursuit of intellectual greatness.
“This play,” he says, “puts in a relevant, personal and honest framework with all the stakes of a Shakespearean tragicomedy.”
Cal Graham plays Catherine. Robert is portrayed by Glenn Williams. Jacob De Jacimo is Hal, and Alexis Harrison plays Claire.
Admission is $6 for the public, $3 for non-TCC students, military and senior citizens, and free to TCC faculty, staff and students.
