TCCD General Counsel Carol Bracken Retires

FORT WORTH, Texas — The Tarrant County College District general counsel, Carol Bracken, retired Jan. 31 after 10 years of service. A national search is underway to fill the position.

She was responsible for developing and coordinating integrated policymaking and other programs for TCCD’s six campuses and the District overall. She also provided strategic guidance to the Board of Trustees, chancellor, campus presidents and other cabinet leaders.

Prior to TCCD, Bracken was general counsel and chief operating officer for The Woodmont Company, a local development firm with operations nationwide. She began her career with Fort Worth-based Law, Snakard & Gambill, where she advanced to partner, specializing in retail development for clients around the country.

She earned her juris doctorate from The University of Texas at Austin School of Law and her bachelor’s in architecture and history from UT Austin. She is a past president of the Tarrant County Women’s Bar Association and the Fort Worth Professional Women’s Association.
