The federal holiday, Juneteenth, celebrates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans on the anniversary of the original order, which occurred on June 19, 1865.
TCC is hosting several events in observance of the holiday. They include:

Please join Student Activities, the Intercultural Network, and African American Student Organization for a grab-and-go Juneteenth Celebration. Students will be able to pick up goodie bags with information, calendars and t-shirts.

TCC Connect Juneteenth Scholarship Contest
TCC Connect is holding a competition to honor Juneteenth. Open to any student enrolled in at least one TCC Connect class in the fall, the top three winners will receive scholarships ranging from $125 to $200.
Students are requirement to submit a project that depicts their understanding of Juneteenth. They should consider what does this federal holiday mean to them and those around them.

The deadline to submit is noon on 6/30/23. Winners will be announced on the Juneteenth Sway site and on July 20 at SummerFest.
