TCC’s tagline is Success Within Reach. Our latest graduates have reached that milestone in their educational journey at TCC. In this series, we want to introduce you to some of them.
“I chose to come to TCC because I wanted to start my college career at a community college no matter what,” said Daniel Vargas, who will receive his Associate of Arts on May 19. “I found that TCC had a really great community, not only from the staff, who are very helpful, but the students that attend TCC are very diverse and friendly people.”
Daniel admits his biggest issue while working on his degree was time management. The mentoring program at TCC was a big help. “The mentoring program helped me meet Lourdes Davenport, who was with me the whole way and assisted me with my time management,” he said.
He is able to graduate early, thanks to taking dual credit classes with TCC since his freshman year in high school. Because of that, he graduated high school a year earlier and only needed two more full-term semesters to complete his associate degree.
Next up for Daniel? Working on his bachelor’s degree in Business Management at Texas Wesleyan University. Ultimately, he wants to become a public accountant and hopes to open his own accounting firm someday.
