Renowned author to speak at April 6 event

The TCC Northwest English Department, in cooperation with the Common Reader Program, will present “Conversations with Cristina Henríquez” from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6.

Henríquez will discuss her book, The Book of Unknown Americans, and will take questions from the audience. The book was a New York Times Notable Book of 2020 and was one of Amazon’s top 10 books of the year. It was also chosen as one of the year’s best books by Book Page, Oprah.com and School Library Journal.

The book is about a group of immigrants who came to the U.S. from Latin America for various reasons. It incorporates the stories of 11 characters, all of whom at some point speak in their own voice, and all of whose journeys to the U.S. have led them to the same apartment building in Delaware where their lives and destinies intertwine.

The program will be on Microsoft Teams, and the link is bit.ly/3qKnJVc.  More information is available at Krista.Rascoe@tccd.edu.
