Tarrant County College is celebrating Women’s Health Month with a series of events highlighting the contributions of women to history and contemporary society in the U.S. TCC campuses have several “Women’s History Month: Looking Back at 100 Years, and On to Our Future” events listed in the event calendar that may be of interest.
Here are some key events to consider:
On Friday, March 5, 2 to 3 p.m., TCC will host “Protest in American History,” a webinar featuring presentations by three TCC faculty: Kristan Foust (“Taking Back the Night”), Misty Wilson (“Not a Property Crime: Protest to Create Anti-Rape and Culture”) and Kimberley Cox (“The Suffragettes”).
On Tuesday, March 9, 1 to 2 p.m., hear from a distinguished panel of women leaders in the STEM field as they share their experiences.
On Thursday, March 25, 12:30 to 2 p.m., TCC will host “Sisters in Law: The Legacy of the First Two Women on the U.S. Supreme Court.” Hear from Linda Hirshman, a lawyer, cultural historian and author of Sisters in Law: How Sandra Day O’Connor and Ruth Bader Ginsburg Went to the Supreme Court and Changed the World, Victory: The Triumphant Gay Revolution and many other books.
