TCC donates ventilators during shortage caused by COVID-19

With medical professionals facing shortages of critical resources to fight COVID-19, Tarrant County College has stepped up to help local hospitals.

Last Friday afternoon, TCC’s Respiratory Care Program loaned three ventilators to JPS Health Network for patients in critical condition. The TCC-owned ventilators will be sanitized and calibrated at JPS and will remain at JPS until the pandemic has passed.

When JPS Health Network contacted Tarrant County College to request the ventilators to help offset equipment shortages, TCC answered the call as part of its ongoing commitment to serving the community.

Respiratory care instructors at TCC use the ventilators to train respiratory care students to become respiratory care therapists. Many of them are currently working in local healthcare facilities throughout North Texas.
