Tarrant County College’s Dietetics Program recently received full approval from the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND®).
This accreditation qualified graduates from the program at TCC Southeast to continue to sit for the national certification exam for Nutrition Dietetic Technician, Registered (NDTR). TCC offers the only Dietetic Technician Program in Texas. About 450 students have earned a degree or certificate in dietetics or related dietary fields at TCC.
“TCC provides a rigorous curriculum for students in our Dietetics Program. It is always rewarding when the hard work of our faculty and staff is acknowledged,” said TCC Southeast President Bill Coppola.
The Dietetics Program at TCC first received developmental approval from the Commission on Accreditation/Approval of Dietetics Education (CAADE) of the American Dietetic Association (ADA) on July 1, 1977. TCC’s Dietetic Technology Program has maintained uninterrupted approval status since its approval in 1999. In addition, the Dietetic Technician program also was cited by the Southern Association of Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) as having the best assessment plan for a technical program at TCC.
