Tarrant County College named top online community college

Tarrant County College has been recognized as the Best Online Community College by Intelligent.com, a resource for online degree rankings and higher education planning.

As the leader on the list of Top 60 Online Community Colleges for 2020, TCC Connect was named in Intelligent.com’s comprehensive research guide after an assessment of 127 accredited colleges and universities nationwide. Each program was evaluated on curriculum quality, graduation rate, reputation and post-graduate employment, according to Intelligent.com.

“Being named this year’s top online college is energizing. While we were not seeking recognition, it not only underscores a team effort to serve non-traditional students well, but also validates the relevance and quality of online education,” said Carlos Morales, president of TCC Connect, a virtual campus offering two modalities: eLearning and Weekend College. “TCC Connect has successfully lived up to its mandate when it was created six years ago to increase educational options by widening the opportunities students have to access higher education.”

The 2020 rankings are calculated through a unique scoring system, which includes student engagement, potential return on investment and leading third-party evaluations. Intelligent.com analyzed 127 schools, on a scale of 0 to 100, with only 60 making it to the final list. The methodology also uses an algorithm that collects and analyzes multiple rankings into one score to easily compare each university.
