Tarrant County College South will host Building Sciences Expo 2019, a conference focusing on the opportunities, strategies and benefits of green building design on Friday, May 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Center of Excellence for Energy Technology, 5301 Campus Drive.
The conference targets researchers, practitioners, architects, engineers, as well as faculty and students involved in building sciences. Sessions will focus on transitioning to sustainable operations, dynamic interfaces of water-resistive barriers and post occupancy evaluations.
Admission to the expo and the luncheon are free. Industry professionals and students in architecture, construction or similar field will receive and Health, Safety and Welfare (HSW) continuing education credits while discussing the science in building sciences.
TCC South’s Community Education & Engagement Division joined its Division of Business and Technology to co-host this conference in partnership with the American Institute of Architects Fort Worth, Construction Specifications Institute and U.S Green Building Council Texas Chapter. A 2017 report by the Council predicted that within a year, “green construction will account for more than 3.3 million jobs and generate $190.3 billion in labor earnings in the U.S.,” with no indications of a slowdown in growth.
