TCC students invited to pitch their business plan for chance to win seed money

Calling all student entrepreneurs! The Tarrant County College Northwest Business, Entrepreneurship & Small Business Management Program is hosting the Plan Empower Grow (PEG) Pitch Competition this month. All TCC students are invited to submit a short business pitch for the opportunity to present their plan to a group of local small business experts. The grand prize winner takes home $500 to start or grow their idea. The deadline to register is Friday, Feb. 15.

“This is a great opportunity to hone entrepreneurial skills before experienced business leaders and receive candid feedback and mentorship,” said Lourdes Ramboa, chair of Business, Entrepreneurship & Small Business Management at TCC Northwest. “It’s valuable for anyone looking to start a business, now or in the future.”

The early bird registration fee, available through Monday, Feb. 11, is $15; the regular fee is $25. Entrants begin by submitting a one-page “elevator pitch.” Semi-finalists will be chosen to give a 15-minute business plan presentation to a panel of judges at TCC Northwest on Thursday, Feb. 21. Finalists will go on to present a 90-second elevator pitch that will be used to determine the winner. All registered contestants will have the opportunity to receive consultation and mentoring from a small business professional.

This is TCC’s first PEG Pitch Competition. For more information and to register, visit www.TheSmallBusinessConference.org
