TCC Trinity River Campus Makes Military Times’ Top 5 for Second Consecutive Year

Tarrant County College’s Trinity River Campus continues to be recognized by Military Times as one of the best places for current military and veterans to pursue an education. For the second consecutive year, Military Times named TCC to its “Best for Vets: Colleges” list unveiled this week.

TCC Trinity River was the highest-ranked institution in Texas, landing 3rd on a list of 33 two-year schools in the state. There were a total of 208 institutions listed in this year’s rankings, divided in categories for four-year, two-year, online and nontraditional schools, and career and technical colleges. TCC Trinity River was ranked No. 2 on last year’s list, which was the first year the campus participated in the annual survey.

“At TCC, we take pride in establishing strong relationships with our student veterans.  These relationships are supported by the outstanding teaching and learning experience provided by our faculty and staff at all TCC campuses,” said TCC Trinity River President Sean Madison.  “Since the Trinity River Campus open its doors in 2009, the campus has continued this support, and I applaud the campus and college for this “Top 5” recognition, for it exemplifies our commitment to being student ready.”

This fall, TCC’s six-campus District had 1,831 veterans enrolled, with 257 veterans at TCC Trinity River, leveraging their benefits to pursue an education at TCC.

Military Times’ annual “Best Colleges” survey asks colleges and universities to meticulously document their array of services, special rules, accommodation and financial incentives offered to students with military ties and to describe the many aspects of veteran culture on a campus.
