I would like to welcome you to the spring 2018 edition of the Northwest Link, our bi-annual e-newsletter. This newsletter is an opportunity for our campus to showcase great work being done and strides we are making towards success on the Northwest Campus.
As you take some time to review the work we have chosen to highlight in this edition of the Northwest Link, I hope you will see how dedicated we are to student success and engagement. As the community’s college, it is our mission to provide affordable, open access to quality teaching and learning as well as a foundation of lifelong learning.
In this issue, we highlight several stories that speak to the hard work of our students, faculty and staff and how that work contributes to our mission. You will learn about our Transfer Center and Marine Creek Collegiate High School, as well as student success stories from both. We also have stories about our ACE Camp, an aviation camp for area high school students, a recent Poetry Slam event we had on campus and our Marine Creek Nature Discovery Center, a years-in-the-making project that will allow our students to learn about ecology and land stewardship in the natural lab that is Marine Creek.
I hope this issue of Northwest Link speaks not only to the high quality of work we are doing at TCC Northwest but of how many exciting things that are taking place here. Thank you, as always, for your continued support of Tarrant County College and the Northwest Campus.
Warm regards,
Zarina Blankenbaker, Ph.D.
