Tarrant County College invites students, alumni and members of the community to the sixth annual Hiring Red, White & You! Job Fair, hosted by Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County. The event is the biggest job fair Workforce Solutions holds each year, featuring more than 175 employers and more than 8,000 job openings.
Hiring Red, White & You! will take place 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9 at Globe Life Park in Arlington. The job fair and parking are free and open to the all.
The event is one of many being held across the state to connect Texas veterans, their spouses and the general public with employers. There are 1.7 million veterans throughout Texas, which is the 2nd highest state population of veterans in the country. The national unemployment rate in 2016 for all veterans was 4.3 percent. For those veterans who served in the military since September 2001, the unemployment rate was 5.1 percent.
“We feel proud to take part in a statewide initiative that supports our veterans, and we feel lucky to be able to share this event with all of Tarrant County,” said Judy McDonald, executive director for Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County. “We are humbled by the overwhelming response to this event. If you make it out to the job fair and see a veteran with a flag wristband, we encourage you to thank them for their service and sacrifice.”
