Elders Honored for Contributions to the Community

WHAT:
As part of its commitment to providing educational access and increasing student population diversity that is reflective of the community, Tarrant County College, in conjunction with three community organizations, will host the third annual Breakfast with our Elders.
 
The Historic Stop Six Initiative, Stop Six Shape-Up Health Fitness Beauty and Wellness Festival and the Focus Network are joining with TCC to recognize 20 elders, who are active in city and community affairs.
 
Organizers plan to use the event to help identify mentors for the younger generation who can build on the success of the individuals being recognized.
 
Honorees include Thomas Earl Williams, Robert Hughes, Rev. Floyd Moody, Augustus Whitted, Loyce S. Whitted, Hillary Green, W.G. Wiley, William Ingram, Jewell Kelly and Bessie Jones.
 
Also being honored are Dorothy Anderson Develrow, Rev. T. W. Pope, Cecille Elgin Brooks Roney, Deralyn Davis, Jeff Davis, Jimmy Killlingsworth, Hazel F. Wilson, Bishop B.E. George, Pastor Robert Sample and Bettye Franklin.
