TCC Southeast Celebrates Arbor Day with Tree Planting and Campuswide Events

FORT WORTH, Texas (April 27, 2016)
 
WHAT:
TCC Southeast leaders and departments will hold several events across campus to celebrate Arbor Day on Friday, Apr. 29. The day will include TCC Southeast President Bill Coppola joining students and event committee members to plant a 65-gallon oak tree commemorating the campus’ 20th anniversary. Attendees can walk away with one of the 100 Mexican White Oak saplings being given away during the event
 
TCC Southeast was recently recognized as an official Tree Campus USA, a national program launched by the Arbor Day Foundation, joining more than 140 American colleges and universities.
The event will feature a variety of activities.
 
WHEN:

11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
 
11:30 a.m. 16 vendors and six food trucks
Noon Scholarship award ceremony
Contests: Poster, ceramic, Chalk the Walk sidewalk competition
President William Coppola to dedicate 65-gallon oak tree
Tree planting led by Coppola, students and Arbor Day committee members
 
1-2 p.m. Vendors and food trucks remain open
