TCC Among Latino Health Symposium Sponsors in 2015

FORT WORTH, Texas (Dec. 10, 2014) – Tarrant County College Trinity River Campus has joined with the Hispanic Women’s Network of Texas, Hispanic Wellness Coalition, Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas and Tarrant County Public Health to host Platicas Sobre La Salud, Conversations About Health: A Latino Health Symposium next month.
 
The keynote speaker for the Jan. 10 symposium is Luis H. Zayas, dean of the School of Social Work and the Robert Lee Sutherland Chair in Mental Health and Social Policy at The University of Texas at Austin.
 
Topics include Chronic Health Diseases, Family Health History, How to Utilize Insurance, Online Medical Sources, Talking to Our Children about Sex and Mental Health and Suicide. The symposium will be held at the Trinity River Campus, 300 Trinity Campus Circle, in Action A, TRTR 4202. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., with registration at 9 a.m. and lunch at 12:30 p.m.
 
“Trinity River Campus is proud to be the host site for this great event,” said Robert Munoz, vice president for the Community and Industry Education Services at Trinity River Campus. “We hope this will be the kick off to other conversations that impact the Hispanic community.”
