FORT WORTH, Texas (October 17, 2013) Tarrant County College campuses are showcasing a number of theatrical productions this fall with the next production beginning in November.
The Carillon Theatre at the South Campus, located at 5301 Campus Drive, will present “Somebody/Nobody” by Jane Martin Nov. 14 to Nov. 16, nightly at 7:30 p.m. The lives of two women from different worlds intersect when Sheena, a famous starlet, stumbles into the living room of Loli, a newcomer from Flatt, Kan. While Loli longs to be a “somebody,” Sheena desires just the opposite. Tickets are sold on the day of the performance at the box office beginning at 7 p.m. Non-TCC student and senior citizen tickets are $3, and general admission tickets may be purchased for $6. “Almost, Maine,” by John Cariani, will be presented Nov. 20 to Nov. 23 at the C.A. Roberson Theatre at the Southeast Campus, located at 2100 Southeast Parkway in Arlington. The romantic comedy is about a town that is so far north, it’s almost in Canada. On a cold Friday night in the middle of winter, the residents of this almost non-existent town find themselves falling in and out of love in the strangest ways and find life will never be the same. Performance times are 7:30 p.m. nightly and 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 22. Non-TCC student and senior citizen tickets are $3, and general admission tickets may be purchased for $6. In December, the Northeast Theatre Playhouse, located at 828 W. Harwood Road in Hurst, will present “Fool for Love” by Sam Shepard Dec. 4 to Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. with a matinee at 2 p.m. on Dec. 7. Set in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, “Fool for Love” features Eddie, who has traveled more than 2,400 miles to reclaim his high school love. General admission tickets are $5. Theatre Northwest, located at 4801 Marine Creek Parkway, presents “The Good Woman of Szechwan” by Bertolt Brecht, which runs Dec. 4 to Dec. 8 and focuses on the struggle to live a moral life in a society corrupted by greed and selfishness. Three gods visit the mythical city of Szechwan in search of a “good” person, only to find one, a humble prostitute named Shen Te.
