"Step Inside Fort Worth” Video Series Features TCC

News_Press-News-Site-RotatorFort Worth Business Press will profile TCC and how the College’s extensive course offerings help students fulfill their dreams through a video series, pushed via email to subscribers, throughout the month of October.

Each week, a different TCC campus and one of its signature programs will air, highlighting members of the community, students and/or faculty.

“We chose October because this year it has five Thursdays, giving us the perfect opportunity to showcase each of our five campuses and unique programs therein,” said Suzanne Cottraux, TCC’s Director of Public Relations and Marketing. “The videos will run in the order each campus opened, starting with the South Campus.”

The South Campus segment spotlights TCC’s state-of-the-art automotive program and a proud TCC graduate, who now is responsible for keeping the city of Fort Worth’s police fleet in stellar condition.

In the second video, which will go “live” late this week, Northeast Campus and TCC’s award-winning newspaper, The Collegian, will be showcased. The head of Texas Christian University’s Bob Schieffer School of Journalism will describe the competitive capabilities of TCC graduates.

Later in the month, Northwest’s Fire and Police academies will take center stage with an emphasis on how important the graduates are in keeping our communities safe.  Next, the Culinary Program at Southeast will be featured, with an impressive story about how one of the program’s graduates garnered a prestigious position at a celebrated Fort Worth Stockyards restaurant.

The last installment will profile Trinity River Campus East’s first nursing professor, who was named as the recipient of the Exemplary Teaching Award.  How does she motivate her students? The video also will highlight the program’s impact as told by a nursing student, one of 20 nursing students nationwide to be named a Frank Lanza Memorial Scholar. This distinction includes a prestigious scholarship from Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and the American Association of Community Colleges, in conjunction with CAE Healthcare and L-3 Communications, Inc.
