FORT WORTH, Texas (Apr. 25, 2012)
Tarrant County College Trinity River Campus will host its first Job Fair and Expo for Persons with Disabilities Monday, April 30, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The campus is located at 300 Trinity Campus Circle, downtown Fort Worth.
About 40 employers plan to participate in the Job Fair and Expo, in collaboration with Amerigroup, the City of Fort Worth, Disability Assistive Rehabilitative Services (DARS), Fort Worth Independent School District (FWISD), and the Texas Department of Mental Health Mental Retardation (MHMR).
The event features seminars to assist applicants with job searches. Topics include “Dressing for Success,” “How to Disclose Your Disability,” “Identifying Discrimination,” “Interviewing Techniques,” “Network Basics,” and “Resume Writing.”
Participating employers are the Army Air Force Exchange Services, Ability Connection Texas, Albertson’s, American Heart Association, Amerigroup, Catholic Charities, CLC, Inc., CVS Caremark, DARS, DARS Division of Blind Services, DARS Office for Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Deaf Entrepreneurs of America, Divine Mercy Hospice, Easter Seals, Expanco, FedEx, FWISD, Goodwill Industries, and Hyatt Hotels.
Others are Legal Aid of Northwest Texas, Lighthouse for the Blind, Lockheed Martin, Lowe’s, Maid Brigade, MHMR, National Federation of the Blind, Omni Hotels, Trinity River Campus Career and Employment Services, TCC Employment Recruitment, Texas Health Resources, The T, Tom Thumb, U.S. Department of Labor, Walgreens, and Workforce Solutions.
