Remembrance Day National Roll Call
Friday, Nov. 11

NE Campus Galley
Throughout the day, volunteers will read the names of casualties of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, now known as Operation New Dawn. Reading the 6,200-plus names of those who lost their lives while serving in Iraq and Afghanistan is expected to take almost eight hours.

Veterans Day Observance Program

The Phi Tau Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the two-year college honor society, will host a ceremony featuring patriotic music, color guard and special guest speaker Tameka Wilson, International President of Phi Theta Kappa, as well as a U.S. Air Force veteran who served in Afghanistan. Northeast Campus student, staff and faculty veterans are also invited to an appreciation luncheon.

Northwest Campus
Veterans Appreciation Day
Thursday, Nov. 10
10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Theatre Lobby (WTLO)
TCC student veterans are invited to drop by the Theatre Lobby anytime between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. to receive a personal thank-you, as well as goodie bags packed with lapel pins, coffee mugs and more, from Northwest Campus Student Activities and the NW Student Veterans’ Association. Coffee and cookies will also be served.

South Campus
Veterans Day Program
Thursday, Nov. 10
12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
Student Center Living Room (SSTU)
The South Campus will host a ceremony to honor and thank military veterans, featuring a musical salute to the Armed Forces by a brass quartet and performances by the O.D. Wyatt Drumline and ROTC.

Southeast Campus
Veterans Day Observance

Main Commons
All veterans at the Southeast Campus Veterans Day Observance will be recognized for their service and given a Veterans Day pin. The ceremony will feature patriotic music and readings, as well as a moment of silence for fallen veterans.

Veterans Day Lecture

North Ballroom
The Untold Stories series continues with a lecture about helping veterans who have lost limbs in combat. Mario Romero-Ortega, associate professor of bioengineering at The University of Texas at Arlington, will present “Reliable Neural Interfaces: Providing Natural Movement and Feel to Robotic Prosthetic Limbs.” Romero will detail how his research will help to develop prosthetic limbs that behave and feel naturally for veterans.

Following a moment of silence, the Trinity River Campus will host a ceremony in the Riverfront Café to recognize all veterans who have served and sacrificed. Another moment of silence will be observed at 1 p.m.
