Her views on health care have earned Northeast Campus Dual Credit student Erica Cottingham a trip to the National Economics Insider Symposium (NEIS) June 10-11 in Washington, D.C. Erica, a junior at Southlake Carroll Senior High School, is one of 12 finalists in Pearson’s Insider contest. Her NE Economics Instructor Harold Ledbetter also will attend.
While competing to be named Future Economics Insider, Erica also will be able to exchange ideas with some of Pearson’s renowned economics authors during the event.
“It’s very exciting to have the chance to learn from other students from across the nation and to be able to share my ideas about an important economic issue like national health care,” she said. “Economics, as taught by Mr. Ledbetter, seems so relevant to daily experience dealing with so many important issues. It has certainly captured my interest in the subject.”
