Epiphany. Confident. Grateful. Just a few of the words the three winners of the 2011 Graduate Contest used in their award-winning entries.
First place winner Lucky Chanthavong came to TCC when friends went off to Purdue, TCU, Baylor and Harvard thinking “…TCC wouldn’t matter.” Lucky discovered purpose while doing volunteer work through the Northwest Campus Cornerstone Honors program.
Brianna Ringgold’s second place entry tells a story many of our graduates can relate to: she overcame the fear of moving on and says she’s a more confident woman because of her experiences at TCC.
Wanting to move into a paralegal career, third place winner Misty Wilkins found herself loving two campuses. Getting her basic classes at Northwest Campus then taking her paralegal courses at Northeast Campuses, she found faculty that helped her succeed.
We congratulate our winners as well as all of our TCC graduates. Keep an eye out this summer as we share the full stories of our contest winners.
