FORT WORTH, Texas (Feb. 10, 2011) A speech by Retired Lt. Gen. Frank E. Petersen Jr. for African-American Heritage Month on Tarrant County College Northeast Campus, 828 W. Harwood Road in Hurst has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 22. It was cancelled last week because of inclement weather.
Credited as the first African-American Marine Corps aviator and the first general, Petersen will discuss “Six Decades of Change: Civil Rights and the Military” at 12:30 p.m. in the Student Center, Center Corner.
South Campus has rescheduled its unveiling of the Harriet Tubman display to Monday, Feb. 14, at 12:30 p.m. at the Jenkins Garrett Library. South Campus is located at 5301 Campus Drive.
Also rescheduled is a presentation by motivational speaker Hollis Conway on Southeast Campus, 2100 Southeast Parkway in Arlington. Conway, who won the Olympic silver and bronze medals in the high jump in 1988 and 1992, will discuss overcoming obstacles on Thursday, Feb. 24, at 1 p.m. in the Roberson Theatre.
