TCC faculty, staff and students once again are joining together during the holiday season to lend a helping hand to Tarrant County families.
Southeast Campus will host its annual Arlington Life Shelter Dinner Tuesday, Nov. 30, from 6 to 9 p.m. in the North Ballroom. Volunteers from the TCC community will serve a traditional holiday dinner prepared by the culinary arts program to residents of Arlington Life Shelter. Mr. and Mrs. Clause will be on hand to meet and greet the children. Music will be performed by SE’s jazz band and music students.
Families at Safe Haven, a domestic abuse shelter for women and children, will benefit again this year from the efforts of Sigma Tau, the Northeast Campus surgical technology student association annual gLove project. So far, 1,500 items – gloves, mittens, hats, scarves and other winter apparel — have been collected. Additional ones also will be purchased with monetary donations. Items and monetary donations can still be made by contacting Cindy Mask, who launched the project in 2006, at 817-515-6568 or cindy.mask@tccd.edu.
