South Campus took on an international flair Sunday when it hosted its fifth Welcome Program and Dinner for more than 190 students and teachers from six countries participating in the Fort Worth Sister Cities International Leadership Academy this week.
Participants from Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico and Swaziland, including some from the Fort Worth area, will gain leadership skills as well as firsthand experience in working with diverse cultures during the Academy.
“Passport to Health” is the 2010 theme as Fort Worth Sister Cities International celebrates its 25th year. The Academy program for high school students and the Jr. Academy program for middle school students focus on international issues through cross-cultural discussions for a two-week period.
Entertainment was provided by Mondo Drummers for the program primarily put together by Community Outreach Coordinator Vera Clayborn and Student Development Services Director Cyrus Johnson.
